I woke up early today and I decided I could fit in a blog post about the past week and a half or so. So I looked through my pictures, and you know what I found out?
I EAT A LOT OF ICE CREAM.
I try my darnedest to be a healthy eater, but man is ice cream a weakness for me in the summer. It’s the perfect thing to eat on a 90 degree day. And you guys, I live in North Dakota. So we’re plenty used to -30 degree winters, but 90 degree summers? Not as common.
Anyway. I try to take pictures throughout my days of anything I think could be fun for blog posts, and this one will just happen to make me look like I live on ice cream. (But please believe, I also eat a lot of veggies, lean meats, and REAL food too 😉).
Here is a picture from a Cold Stone trip with my friend Andrea and her kids. She’d never had it, and I used to work there back in the day and found that news unacceptable, so we went there right away. Ooooh beautiful cookie dough perfectness.
Last week, my work had dilly bars brought in from Dairy Queen for someone’s birthday and I couldn’t resist. I shared mine with my favorite Food Network star, Ina Garten 😜
The next night, my friend Jen and I went to the Moorhead, MN Dairy Queen to get blizzards. We try and go together at least once a year as they’re only open seasonally in Summer. You guys. They make the BEST blizzards. And because they are locally owned, they offer all sorts or flavors that other DQ’s don’t always offer. I got crunch coat and cookie dough.
They LOADED it with goodies and didn’t even charge extra for the second topping. So great!
The next day at work, I found out we also had fruity star Dairy Queen bars available in the freezer. So after a stressful day, best believe I dove into one of those!
Okay last ice cream picture. There was another birthday at work this week and they got a Cold Stone ice cream cake. I only took a little slice, and it was the perfect amount!
Ok, now backtrack to last weekend. My sister came to visit and she brought me some early birthday gifts. (Let’s just say a TON of awesome cat-themed stuff hahaha) and my favorite gifts: some handmade wood art for my living room wall!
Let me tell you a back story. Last Christmas, my sister and I went to a charity benefit for our home church. There was a silent auction, and I fell head over heels in love with this driftwood seahorse.
Sadly, I didn’t win it. But my sister said no worries, she could make me a driftwood project herself. So she did exactly that! She went out and collected driftwood from outside, bleached/cleaned it all, and put it together in the shape of one of my FAVORITE animals. An owl.
Honestly. How amazing is that? It’s so beautiful. She also made me three arrows (including the one at the top of my wall art)!
(We later added twine to the bottom and rehung it up. It looks amazing)
That Friday night, we decided to run to the store for dinner fix-ins. We also found THESE. They were awesome!! So is my good ass beer 😉
Saturday morning, we decided to go to JC Penneys for their coupon sale! They gave out $10 off of $10, $20 off of $20, and $100 off of $100 coupons! It was amazing and we found some AWESOME deals. This shirt was one of my favorite finds 🙂
Sunday morning I went to church with my friend Jen and then we got brunch at Granite City. I had heard good things about it but my goodness! It was amazing!
I may have also gotten a mango mimosa.
Look at that list!
The next day, I came home from work to find one perfect cherry tomato in my balcony garden. I’m not getting much sun at all and the weather has been a bit rough, so my poor plants aren’t doing amazingly. I decided to cherish this beauty as long as possible haha 🙂
That night I also made steak and potatoes on the grill (with truffle butter mushrooms on the side!) and my grill got a bit crazy on me! Nearly burned my arm off! But it all worked out and the food was amazing!
Looked a lil somethin like this (although this pic is from a week or so earlier, they are basically the same exact meal, because I am oblessed with it)
Thank you for stopping by! Here is a picture of Raja. My purrito.
