Holy Moly- Catch Up Post, Batman!

Okay. I am so far behind on posts at this point, it’s insane. Blogging gets a bit stressful for me to try and keep up with when the rest of my life is so go-go-go. So I definitely had to put blogging on the back burner for a couple months and honestly decide if I wanted to keep going with it or not— turns out, I do! So I’m going to try and find time to work on blogging little by little instead of letting time and pictures build up until it’s overwhelming and stressful. But until then; we are playing catch-up! So prepare to travel waaay back in time and space to June 20th. Freaking JUNE 20TH. Today is August 11th, by the way. EEEESH!

Ok, buckle up!

That evening after work, I went to my friend Carrie’s house to go for a long walk with her and her kiddos.

We walked a few miles and on the way back, we stopped at a park so her kids could play for a bit. It was a beautiful night!

When I got home I dug into some Halo Top ice cream. Raja was not happy about me not sharing.

Later that week, one of my coworkers brought in his new puppy. She was THE CUTEST!!!

I decided to make a makeshift bird bath for my balcony using a random fish platter I found in my cupboard.

That weekend, Tony came to visit and surprised me with Zima! I was too young to have tried it when it was out back in the day, so I was super excited to finally see what the fuss was about.

It was pretty good! We followed people’s advice about dropping a jolly rancher in to give it more flavor.

My handsome fella πŸ˜‰

The sunset that night was incredible <3

The next morning, we made coffee and had breakfast together.

Then we headed to Junkyard brewery because Tony is obsesssssed.

I got my nitro brewed coffee!

Ugh. He is so handsome.

Artsy fartsy.

After the brewery, my friend Kristen came to town and we all went wandering around downtown! First stop: CANDY. Because this is me we’re talking about. And candy is life.

Next stop: Cookies! This shop has WARM, fresh baked cookies all day long!

Kristen! <3

We spent the rest of Saturday with drinks, movies, and chatting! Sunday morning we headed to Blarney Stone for their Bloody Mary bar (ugh I’m drooling as I write this. I haven’t been there in months!)

After brunch Kristen headed back home. I spent the rest of the day cuddlin with my bubba.

And a Factime with my niece! πŸ˜‰ (and my sister)

I went to Carrie’s Monday night after work to help her make treats for her son’s birthday party. It was sea-themed, and AMAZING. We made some little fishing bobber poles out of white chocolate, cherries, and pretzel rods πŸ™‚

And octopus lollipops!

Annnnd we had pizza. NOM.

After making a bunch of treats, Carrie, Brandi, and I headed out to the porch to relax with some Zimas.

Brandi is amazing. Bah hahaha!

Tuesday morning, a group of us from work went to volunteer at the local food bank. It was a very humbling experience. I’m making it my goal to start donating to them as often as I can. We tend to take for granted how much we have until you see first hand how many people are going hungry every day. I encourage you to donate to your local food bank/shelter if you have the means to do so <3

June 28th shall go down in history as the best day ever for me! Because look who came to splash around in my bird bath!

That Thursday, my friend Danielle came over after work to craft!

My floor was covered in supplies haha.

I made a bunch of magnets and she made string art!

I got off work at noon the next day (Friday) and my sister Cassie came to visit! We got lunch at Lucky’s 13. SO GOOD.

Then we went to Barnes and Noble and wandered around. I found my absolute FAVORITE Berenstain Bears book from my childhood. I had to buy it.

Cassie: “of COURSE that was your favorite”  bah hahaha! (is anyone surprised that my favorite book has to do with candy and junk food?)

A whole cat lady section πŸ˜€

After Cass went back home, I ran some errands. One that was particularly fun was to PetSmart. They had sent me a coupon in the mail for ANY bag of cat food: FREE. So you know ya girl went and got the most bang for my buck haha! The kitties have been eating like kings the past month πŸ˜‰

A few of my favorite things: my baby, a funny piggy bank from the dollar store, SWERVE (an amazing sugar replacement), and some art that I made.

I had a dinner date with my friend Charlene for the first time in MONTHS and it was so great catching up!

We went to our favorite Italian place that had closed and re-opened with new ownership. It wasn’t the same, but still good. And look at the size of my “side salad!”

Gorgeous evening.

July 2nd I stayed up late painting these weird little cats I found at a thrift store while the babies slept.

I hung the final products up on the wall.

I also painted a cute Baileys almond milk bottle because why not?

Okay. My name is Anna and I have a problem: I am obsessed with coffee mugs! πŸ™‚

Ugh I love these cats so dang much.

The 4th of July was spent alone with the kitties, but I still had fun. I dolled myself up and made a red, white, and blue drink πŸ™‚

And I made a lasagna!

They napped through most of the day.

The next day was hotter than the 7th layer of Hell. LOL just kitten, but really, we’re not used to this kind of heat in North Dakota.

Once the sun started setting, I sat out on my balcony and did a little painting.

Raja sun-tanned.

When I got in bed that night, Rogue laid on the pillows next to me and I couldn’t believe it! (She is not the cuddler of the two of them. So this was amazing)

New pillow from Kohls! It’s cooling and was originally $140! I found it on clearance for $13.99, had a %20 off coupon, annnnd a $10 Kohls cash. So it was basically FREE, baby!

That night, Danielle and I made some more magnets! She sets up shop at local craft events to sell her cute products. Here are some I made that night.

I ordered some Dave Ramsey books to help me learn to be a better budgeter! I was only able to really jump in this month (August) because I get paid once a month and needed to start fresh. It’s been incredibly helpful so far and I’m loving his “envelope” system where your spending money is put into cash and separated into envelopes like “fun money,” “groceries,” etc. Then once it’s gone-it’s GONE. No touching savings, no borrowing from other envelopes. It’s been really helpful!

July 8th was a Saturday, and that means Farmers Market! Tony came to town and we headed out to explore in the sunshine. I even wore lipstick :O

Poke bowls are my new favorite thing in the whole world. Basically deconstructed sushi! Filling, and much less expensive!

Tony got a hotdog with literally everything ever on it haha!

Fresh baked bread and cookies!

The only other thing I splurged on was this unicorn can coozie. BECAUSE I have wanted one of those giant unicorn pool floaties for ages, but have no reason to get one. This little guy was under $10 and a nice compromise.

We went to Junkyard after the Farmers Market and tried their “beer slushies!”

Then we went to church and home to grill up some brats!

Sunday afternoon we grilled chicken πŸ™‚

I love him so.

Thank you for sticking through this GIANT post!! More to come soon! <3

So glad you decided to keep on blogging! I loved that this post was full of crafts. I’m a crafter myself but with a two year old I don’t get to do it too often any more.
I’ve never heard of Zima before, but assume it’s similar to Smirnoff which I like. Ooh, and your beer slushie got me craving a shandy, mmm!

    P.S. Are you on Instagram?

    • Anna says:

thanks so much, Susie! I’m glad I decided to keep with it too. It can be really fun! I love crafting too!! I will try to do more craft posts πŸ™‚ Yes I’m on Instagram under actively_anna although I’m not on it too often πŸ™‚

Aaaaaand most delayed blog friend award goes to : ME! Girl, how the heck are ya? I am so behind on your posts- which means I get to binge read, which is really quite exciting for me! But at the same time I apologize for the major MIA.

First, love the title of this post. Yesss. Thank freaking goodness you decided to keep blogging. I would be so sad if you stopped. And β€œsad” is probably an understatement! Hmmm I have never tried Zima- what is it exactly?!

Also, ya’ll are such a beautiful couple!

    YAASSS- insomnia cookies- the besttttt.

PS. I think of you when I see a bloody mary, lol!

How awesome you volunteered at the food bank- I did the same thing a couple years ago and it really is eye opening.

Girl- you are amazing! That vase looks so dang cute. You really have such a creative eye. Always blows me away what you whip up!

Ahhh all of this is So. Much. Fun. Thanks for making my night with your adventures. Sending you massive hugs! XO

    • Anna says:

HIIIIIII friend!!!! πŸ™‚ I’m so glad to hear from you. I think we can both tie for that delayed blog award haha! I’ve been so behind too. Zima is an alcohol that was super popular with younger folks back in the day. It reminded me of sprite kinda. Ok- but not the best thing in the world lol.

I love that you think of me when you see a Bloody Mary! Hahaha, they are my FAVE.

Thank you for all your kind kind words, as usual. It truly brightens my day to hear from you. XOXO
